The beginning....
The Coastal
Breakers
Red/Bad
Religion all came together in
the summer of 2000. Josh, Brandon, Erith ,
Travis and Chad all worked as Paintball Refs at The Heart of Darkness Paintball
In Durham N.C for about two and
a half months. "We were supposed to have try outs for the team at work
but we just went
our own way". During that time Brandon, Josh, Erith and Travis (not
pictured) Decided to start the team and
try to play together in a tournament. "We started talking about making
a team so we just went for it. It was
supposed to be a Ten man but we got Five." During this time they practiced
maybe all of about twice." We did a
few practices and had one scrimmage against Team flipmode's novice team.
We destroyed them!" Soon after
Chad came aboard." I had known Brandon for awhile but hadn't seen
him in a while, and after the seven
man tournament flop at Heart of Darkness Paintball I went back to Bunkers
to play but no one would show
up. By then I had gone back to Heart of Darkness to play. Brandon was reffing,
Erith was the manager and
the next thing I knew brandon called asking if I wanted to play for their
team. I said sure! How could I
turn it down." Around this same time, Scott was drafted and came
aboard. "I remember Erith talking about
starting a team but he never followed up with me until a few months later
when he ask me to come to practice."
The first tournament they played in was at Predator Paintball in
Hillsborough N.C. Unfortunately Erith wasn't able
to play due to Knee surgery. Jase one of their coworkers filled in
and the results were not that bad. They shocked
most of the teams they play with their performance. After all this was
their first tournament. That day a stroke of
good luck hit these guys like a brick wall. They met Bambi Jo Bullard.
Bambi owns the Coastal Breakers
traveling tournament team and also writes for Action Pursuits Games magazine
along with Paintball Magazine.
Bambi gave these guys a briefing about what she saw and what she wanted.
Bambi pretty much gave these guys an offer
they couldn't refuse. Next thing they knew they were the newest members
of the Coastal Breakers. There
next tournament
was a three man out at Action Tagg paintball in Raleigh N.C (see Tournament
photos ). This tournament was a great
learning experience for Erith, Josh and Chad. Scott, Brandon, Chad
and Josh just played in their first five man as Coastal
Breakers in the Atlantic Coast Tournament
Series. To stay updated on the Coastal
Breakers

As for the future well that's an experience we are all looking forward to......

and the following people:
Erith : I would like to first thank My Best Friend Algon Hughes and my cousin Joe who kept me on the right track and kept giving me the supporting advice I needed when no one else would back me up on ideas and plans and who's encouragement has kept me going through the years and will for years to come. Second I want to thank my family . Mom, Dad , my cousins and My Grand Mother who's love and advice have kept me from making the wrong moves and who will never let me fail at any thing I do. Last I want to thank my Team mates Josh , Brandon , Travis , Chad and Scott Much love to ya fellas.
Brandon : I would like to thank Heart of Darkness Paintball for giving me a job as a paintball ref cause with out that job I would not have met these guys and started a team. I also would like to give thanks to my Mom cause with out her driving I wouldn't have made it to any practice or the tournaments. I would also like to thank Team Flipmode for teaching me my first tournament skills. I would like to give mad props to my cousin for getting me started in paintball and hooking me up with my Chrome RT. Special thanks to Bambi Jo Bullard and the hole Coastal Breakers crew especially Coastal Breakers RED.
Josh : I just want ot thank my friend Rase
for getting me started back when we just had spiders and it was shake
and shoot. I also want to thank my team mates. Like Erith always told us
Ballz to the Wall!!!
Chad : My biggest thanks are to my parents.
they helped and supported me in every way possible. I would also
like to thank all of my teammates for letting me on the team, I know I
was a late arrival and the Coastal
Breakers for their support . Especially Bambi, Pete and Corri. They gave
me more knowledge in one practice
than all four year of play I had before that.
Scott : I would
like to thank Erith and my teammates for letting me play on the team and
Bambi for
answering all my e-mail about the Coastal Breakers.
